Started out this morning at marathon pace for the first 2.5, for me that is 7:30/mile I think... Hope to get that to about 7:00 to qualify for Boston. I ran St. George this year at 7:15 for the first 13, then calves cramped up due to lack of taining and finished with an overall pace of 8:15!

The next 3.1 on this morning's run was at 6:15/mile, which is actually faster than any 5K I've ran this year. Currently, fastest this year was about 20:00. But then again that was back in June and only a few months after starting to run again after about 6 years off!

So my question is, what is my real marathon pace? Should it be 7:00 now, or should I work down to that?

Also, what should I be running threshold at? VO2 max?

Easy miles are just what ever feels comfortable right?

Thanks for any help, my high school distance coach didn't teach me all this!

Ran with Steve and Bill from running store. Ran washington feilds loop (12.25 mi) at about 6:50 overall pace. From running store down to virgin river trail then west to river road. Waited for Bill for a couple of minutes because his back was acting up on him. Crossed the bridge on river road and headed east in to washinton feilds past Summit. 1/2 mile before the bridge at Indian Oaks Steve started to kick it up a bit to probably sub 6 mile... I kept with him until about the other side of the bridge and then dropped back to about 7:30 and he kept going. Finished in 1:24, Steve in 1:23. Felt good to run with a group. Solo 5 mile run at 7:30 pace feels tough to me most days but running sub 7 miles for almost 13 did not seem as hard because I was running with someone else!

Going for 1:25 at painters half... Did Bryce in about 1:34 last summer. Split at St George in October was 1:35...

Ok, I felt like crap yesterday. Wasn't sure I'd be able to run at all today. Felt feverish, lightheaded, and had the shivers. This morning woke up at 7 and didn't feel all that great. Read all of your blogs for about 45 minutes and it gave me the motivation to at least try to run.

So I guess I should be proud of the fact that I got out there and did 5 miles, although it was a very slow run. I didn't even have the strength to run fast past Clydes house ;^)

Surprisingly, I actually didn't feel sick during my run. Although sitting here typing this I am starting to feel a little queasy again...
